How does dry air harm?
What does a low humidity level actually cause? Particles of dust, bacteria, viruses, feces of mites, which are normally captured by the nasal mucosa and exhaled back, due to dry air, which reduces the natural defences, get to the lungs.

If you are not sure if your problems are caused by low humidity, it is definitely worth buying the earliest room humidity meter. It costs only a fraction of what the humidifier itself and it will tell you immediately if your household is a suitable candidate for a humidifier.
Humidification without a humidifier?
