Yes, it is normal. The whistling is caused by the function of the ionizer, which sometimes makes a whistling sound when negative ions are formed. The ionizer function is optional, so if you are disturbed by the whistling, you can simply turn it off. It is also possible that the ionizer is clogged with dust and needs to be cleaned.

Yes, you can program the operation of the purifier. The timer can be set in steps of 30 minutes, the maximum time is 12 hours. After this time, the kettle switches off automatically. If you want to turn off the set timer, just hold down the timer button for 3 seconds. 

The purifier has an air quality sensor that monitors the environment and calculates how many 2.5 om particles per million particles are contained in the air.

If the number of particles is < 60, then the front panel glows blue, if it is between 60 and 150, then orange. If the value is higher than 150, the panel lights up red.

The device is equipped with an indication to change the filters. This function is set to 1500 hours of operation. After this time, a signal icon appears on the display. You can also find out the current status of the filters. When you hold down the Child Lock button for 5 seconds, the display will briefly show the number of hours since the filters were replaced, resp. since last counter reset.

First you need to insert the antibacterial/ HEPA filter, then the catalytic/formaldehyde filter and finally the pre-filter. Finally, close the front panel of the device.

For both replaceable filters, make sure that the filter holder always points towards you. To remove the front panel, gently push it at the point where the side air inlets open.

The air quality sensor is dirty, it must be cleaned.

This is due to the filters being dirty, they need to be cleaned or, if heavy soiled, they need to be replaced.

A negligible amount of ozone is generated when the ionizer function is switched on. The amount is minimal and absolutely harmless to health.

Follow the instructions to make sure all parts are in place. It is advisable to place the device on a flat surface.

If the cover is OK, also check that the mains plug is connected correctly. 

The child lock is probably on, which protects against accidental setting changes. To turn off/on the child lock feature, hold down the appropriate button for 3 seconds.

Make sure your filters are not in a protective case.

Check that the filters are installed in the correct order.
